Yes! I’ve Been Waiting For This: Gov. Palin Endorses Star Parker

Posted by Adrienne Ross on June 17, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

I’ve been waiting for this one: Today Governor Palin endorsed Star Parker for Congress.

Via Facebook, the Governor writes:

I’m proud to endorse Star Parker for California’s 37th Congressional District. Star has an incredible story and a passionate commitment to her community and our great nation. Rising up from being a single mom on welfare, Star worked hard to build a non-profit network that seeks to reduce poverty and create a brighter future for America by promoting free market solutions and personal responsibility. There is no doubt that she will bring a new level of enthusiasm and energy to Washington for American values, limited government, and economic growth. She’s a dynamic leader who is committed to building a more prosperous environment for the families in her district and ushering in positive change. Please join me in supporting Star and her message of hope, opportunity, and self-reliance. Visit her website at www.StarParkerforCongress.com and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.

Both Governor Palin and Star Parker are role models who inspire others to greatness. The Governor grew up hunting and fishing in the “Last Frontier.” Star Parker had a more troubled upbringing and became a woman dependent on the government–until she saw the light. In spite of being from two different worlds, so to speak, today they both share an incredible love for America, a deep appreciation for hard work, and a commitment to common sense solutions. They’re both willing to serve to see this nation return to both fiscal and personal responsibility. I wrote more about Star Parker in March here.

So how does Star Parker feel about Governor Palin’s endorsement?

On Twitter, she wrote:

On Facebook she wrote:

I’m proud to receive Sarah Palin’s endorsement today.

I, too, am excited about this particular endorsement. Star deserves it, and I look forward to Governor Palin helping send her to Washington.

I am a little late with my comments, but will post them anyway. I have read Star Parker’s book which was the story of a woman who chose to turn her life towards “giving” rather than taking – and this takes a big person. I recommend her book to everyone who cares to know how our present hand out system will eventually break us. Secondly, we need to understand how difficult it is for black candidates to come out as conservatives and embrace the Republican platform. Their opposition comes from everywhere, so if Star has received endorsements to help her in her goal to help America, then God Bless those who have put their confidence in her including Gov. Palin. I am not a citizen of California and cannot vote for Star when push comes to shove in November, however, she is in my prayers and I am looking forward to her victory.

Yes! I’m excited about Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Star too!
They make a beautiful mix of who America is, and what America stands for.
For years, I wondered why Star hadn’t run (and been elected) for office. As one who once played and milked the “system”, and a born-again Christian conservative, Star has a clear view of what plagues our urban comunities and our great nation (which is going downhill faster than I would have imagined!).
Blessings to my patriotic sisters Star and Sarah!

All I’ve ever heard about Star Parker has been positive. The fact is, however, that she has benefitted BIG TIME from endorsements & support from major Conservative sources/individuals/organizations, etc. all along her career. That career seems to have validated the supporters’ own agendas re how a welfare mom could rise from the ashes, so to speak. She has been associated with (honored by) the Clare Booth Luce Foundation, among others. But, bottom line, outside these conservative orgs, she (Star) is a relative unknown; but when her Conservative bona fides are tested in the shark-infested waters that is Calif. politics, she may very well be torn to pieces and will need every endorsement she can muster!

My guess is that the Dems will put up one helluva fight and throw everything at her to keep their power in Congress. Depending on how threatening she really is to them at this point in time will determine how much the (national) Dem Big Bucks will flow her way.

Palin has given her a big boost among the base – how it translates in the General Election is anyone’s guess, however.

I just wish that Star was OUR candidate for Congress!! Our (45th District) Tea Party candidate – a wonderful newcomer – just didn’t get enough coverage and didn’t have enough $$ to spend on spreading his name recognition, etc.; so, we’re “stuck” with Mary Bono Mack – who only maintains a residence here to keep her seat/representation in Congress; most of her time is split between DC and her new home (& new husband, Rep (R) Connie Mack) in FLorida.

The 37th District is lucky, indeed, to have a woman the calibre of Star Parker! May she prevail in November!!

    Adrienne,

Okay…..I have heard Star speak a few times, dont know alot about her really BUT….I am hearing some say that Star does NOT really like Sarah at all and that she is sort of using her?

I don’t know what gives this impression…..but I did just read an article on TownHall.com that was sort of borderline that Star wrote about Sarah. I guess this is in California that Star is running? In that case, she perhaps is the best under the circumstances as far as who could actually WIN ? Sometimes you have to move towards the middle to get a candidate that could actually win it…..I understand that…..it may not be your “perfect choice”.

I just would hate to see Sarah standing behind someone who…..is only using Sarah for her endorsement and doesnt really support/ like Sarah. There is alot of “haters” out there who….NEED Sarah right now and we have to be careful about that. People will do and say ANYTHING now to win …..sad but true.

Do you have any articles or information about Star and or things she has said about Sarah? I know you are really into the blogs and stuff…..just wondered if you had any links ect to check out ?

    Charolette
