Palin to AIPAC: Deeper Ties with Israel

CBNNews.com – JERUSALEM, Israel – Alaska Governor and GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin told AIPAC that she wants to strengthen ties between Israel and the U.S.

Israelis welcomed her statement to AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee), reprinted in the Wall Street Journal, “to work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership between the U.S and Israel.”

Palin made the statement to AIPAC Tuesday, according to the group’s spokesmen, from her hotel suite, where she was working on her speech, which will be delivered at the Republican convention Wednesday evening.

Wednesday’s speech is aimed at introducing Palin, Republican presidential nominee John McCain’s running mate, to the nation.

“She made her first impression on Republicans in Ohio on Friday when McCain introduced her,” New Hampshire Republican Party chairman Fergus Cullen said. “Now she can make a first impression on the rest of the country,” he said.

Palin has been at the center of a media blitz since revealing the out-of-wedlock pregnancy of her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol.

Bristol and the baby’s father, Levi Johnston, who have made plans to marry, will be at the convention Wednesday.
